The mobile pre-paid market is really heating up in this cold economy. Offering pre-paid wireless subscribers yet another option in this increasingly competitive business, AT&T (NYSE: T) has just announced a new unlimited pre-paid calling plan that costs just $3 per day. The unique voice-only calling plan offers wireless customers an all-you-can-eat option with the flexibility of daily billing.

As expected, the new “GoPhone $3 a Day” plan includes unlimited voice minutes to any phone in the US. Customers will only be charged $3 for every day that they use AT&T’s service, which could potentially save some serious green for those that don’t use the heck out of their phones on certain days and not at all on other days.
This new AT&T $3 plan isn’t going to be for everyone. Carriers like Boost Mobile, Virgin Mobile and MetroPCS have already started price-warring with each other for the most attractive pre-paid service, and they all offer unlimited calling for less than $60 a month, considerably less than AT&T’s plan. But, for people that need unlimited minutes for a week every month, AT&T’s $3 plan might make more sense.
AT&T is also launching the Magnet look-alike Samsung A177 alongside their new unlimited pre-paid calling plan.

A move in the right direction, but pretty uninspiring/uncompetitive to say the least….
This is the dumbest ideal ever $3 a day????? $90 a month come AT&T you can do better than that. It’s a rip off
