Introducing Android 2.0, aka ‘Donut’

It’s been nothing but Android 1.5 ‘Cupcake’ news and discussion over the past little while, and rightly so. But now with Cupcake making its way to devices in the US, one might agree it’s time to shift focus just a tad to what’s coming next. In this case, Android 2.0. Word has come out that the next build of the OS is dubbed ‘Donut’, and developers are already conversing with the Google Android Team about a release schedule and more.
Gotta love Google (NSDQ: GOOG)’s sense of humor. First Cupcake, then Donut… what’s going to be next… Cookie?

Android 2.5 “Donut Hole” update coming down the pipeline!
Actually, the next release after donut is called ‘eclair’ Releases are alphabetically sequential with pastry references (ie; Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, etc)
This is old news. The software updates for Android will be code named dessert titles in alphabetical order.
Example- 1.5 “Cupcake”
2.0 “Donut”
2.5 “Ecclair”
..etc
Its already named Eclair after Donut.
Then after that will be some other sweet that begins with an F…perhaps Fried Dough

If you don’t yet have the 1.5 update quit trippen, u can download it manually to your computer and then rename it update.zip and move it to the root directory of your SD card, then just turn off your G1. Once it’s powered all the way off all you gotta do is press power button and home button at same time, then once the triangle shows up press “ALT+L” and then “ALT+S”, then your kool in the game. Google android 1.5 download and you should find it. Peeeeeeaaaace.
