Two of the popular Nokia (NYSE: NOK) NSeries device, N79 and N85, have been recently updated. Firmware version 20.175 fixes a number of reported bugs, slightly improves UI, and makes the device more stable than ever before. Moreover, some new features are included in the mix, too:
- Bookmarks updated to remove Download link folders
- MTP configuration to enable Social Cinema support
- Email plug-in functionality
- TP Wizard to check availability of Nokia email service
- Media player default settings changes
- Files on Ovi Widget
- Email wizard (aka Gimlet) is now visible in Settings Wizard selection
- Turn “PnP Mobile Services” On
- S&S Application updates
- MPX player not accessible when USB cable connected
Keeping your firmware up to date is something we always recommend. You can upgrade your device either over-the-air or through Nokia Software Updater, which is part of Nokia PC Suite. Full change log is available on Spazio Cellulare…

Biggest and most ANNOYING bugs is still here after 20.175.53.1. Screen goes completely black some sec’s after screensaver activates, so what’s the use of a screensaver. I would like to see my clock and missed calls or recieved sms on idle screen as I did will all my previous nokia’s. They fixed bugs you will propably never encounter, but the bug that is there EVERY SINGLE TIME I take a look at my phone is still there!! incredible!
I am very disappointed in nokia’s support, but I guess that’s what the difference is between a good company and a bad one.
I updated my N85 over-the-air. Surprise surprise it wont work anymore… Where was closest service point again… Sorry to say this but this was the last time when I update my Nokia device.
It is gud. The mobile is much stable nw… O i luv my n79 .it has alot more to offer ,it wil never get old. Man i hav to gel wid it for a lyf tym
