ScummVM in process of being ported to Android; Lucas Arts’ classic games are coming!

ScummVM

Guess we expected this to appear, after seeing the ScummVM engine being ported to the Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) iPhone and Nokia (NYSE: NOK)’s Maemo platforms. It’s Android time, meaning that the HTC Dream/T-Mobile (NYSE: DT) G1 and HTC Magic owners soon will be able to enjoy playing good ol’ point-and-click adventure games (someone said Secret of the Monkey Island?) on their beloved devices.

A number of titles is instantly available, although for full versions you’ll need to buy the original game to get the license. Afterwards, the world’s your oyster — no longer you’ll be bored while waiting in a queue or at a meeting where your presence is not really needed.

Hop over to ScummVM’s unofficial port to Android page at Google (NSDQ: GOOG) Sites and take it from there. Good luck in fighting those pirates. ;)

UPDATE: ScummVM is already available in the Android Market.
