As with any launch version of an app, things need to be tweaked, and features need to be added. The same can of course be said of the Kindle App for iPhone, and thankfully, the folks at Amazon have started releasing updates. The first, version 1.1 has brought us some important changes.

First, you can now choose from different background and text colors. Don’t like reading black text on the white background? Change it! You can now choose alternate setups of white text on a black background, and grey text on a tan/sepia color.

Second, if you’d rather not have to read in portrait orientation all of the time, the Kindle app now supports landscape mode… So tilt your device sideways and try it out. You may like it.

Lastly, Kindle now supports tapping on either side of the screen to turn pages. Very handy indeed.

You can pick up Kindle for iPhone for free in the App Store (iTunes link).
