samsung omnia teardown 300x225 Samsung Omnia Dissected

The Samsung Omnia went under the prybar recently, revealing its glorious, glorious guts to the world. The Omnia gets bonus points for having a small, well-packed circuit board and a sneakily-placed slab of 8 GB NAND memory. As for the chips (if you’re into that kind of thing), Qualcomm (NSDQ: QCOM) 6800A and Marvell PXA312 processors connected by a Cypress dual-port bridge lie at the heart, while Bluetooth was done by CSR, Wi-Fi by Marvell and GPS by Avago.
