Palm Pre hitting Best Buy for $200 sans rebate!

Best Buy may not be getting too many Palm (NSDQ: PALM) Pre units on launch day, but if you’re lucky enough to have a Best Buy Mobile in your area, you’re in for a treat. Best Buy Mobile will apparently be selling the Palm Pre for $199.99 without any kind of mail-in rebate, as long as you sign a new 2-year contract with Sprint (NYSE: S). In contrast, the Palm Pre will ding your wallet for $299.99 in Sprint stores, until the $100 mail-in rebate hits your mailbox.

In the end, the final cost of a new Palm Pre will be the same. But, not having to wait for a mail-in rebate is a great reason to get the Pre from Best Buy Mobile. We figure a good handful of people will manage to get their hands on a $200 Palm Pre on launch day (June 6) before they sell out.
