Samsung SGH-t349

T-Mobile (NYSE: DT) USA is officially official with the we-knew-it’s-coming Samsung SGH-t349. Designed for savvy texters, Samsung’s candybar prides itself with SureType-like 20-key half-QWERTY keyboard, which is additionally powered by the auto-word completion and XT9 predictive text technologies. As a result, the lack of the other half of the full QWERTY keyboard shouldn’t come as a problem.

As for the t349’s specs, you should know we’re talking about a low-end phone and in that sense you shouldn’t expect 3G radio on board — rather, we’re talking about EDGE data speeds here. Rest of the specs include 2.2-inch 176×220 pixels screen, stereo Bluetooth support, 1.3 megapixel camera, T-Mobile myFaves, IM client (works with Yahoo!, AIM and Windows Live Messenger), and a battery that provides up to 7 hours of talk and up to 300 hours of standby time. Size wise, it measures 4.49×1.97×0.53 inches and has a weight of 3.2 ounces.

The Samsung SGH-t349 is instantly available from T-Mobile USA’s website from where you can grab it for $14.99 on a two-year contract, after instant discount and $50 mail-in rebate.
