Panasonic Getting on the Android Bus
By Simon Sage on Friday, May 22nd, 2009 at 9:59 AM PST In Android, Panasonic

In addition to announcing entry into the overseas market in fiscal 2010, Keisuke Ishii, director of Panasonic (NYSE: PC)’s Mobile Terminal Business Unit, has said they’re “seriously considering developing an Android-based handset”. About every other manufacturer has at acknowledged their interest in Google (NSDQ: GOOG)’s mobile OS, if not gone out and actually done it already (as Samsung and Motorola have), so it’s not a huge surprise to see Panasonic getting into it. Studies are showing a bright future for Android, and Panasonic is apparently eager to get their piece of the pie. The first year for the platform was a little slow, but 2009 really is shaping up to be a busy one as manufacturers other than HTC start having their hand at Android.
