There are no doubts in my mind Nokia have big hopes for its new flagship device – N97. That said, I was not surprised to spot 5 fake N97s in the last few weeks. Some of them have their own “branding” like Nckia and Nokla, while some other simply say “N97″ on the top of the device. Moreover, we see that of all the clone N97s, there are some with keyboard (Nckia N97) while others are all-touchscreen devices (Nokla N97).

As it gets harder and harder to spot a fake device, buyers need to examine the phone carefully prior to pulling any cash/cards out of their pockets/wallets. Sure it may sound like a good deal, but if it’s too good to be true, you’re probably looking at a clone device which doesn’t come even close to the “real deal.” Here are some shots of the fake Nokia N97s, which we advise you to look carefully and keep following our “this week in fake devices” series. ;)

    How terrible?

it definetely looks like one of fake chinese clones. my brother bought N96 which it actually was fake. he found out that his 580$ handset not responding for maps application and went to mobicom and found out that fakes didn’t have proper chips to support such functions as well as 3G.it was a 580$ mistake and he never found the dealer again.

My friend got the Nckia N97c yesterday. His dad had promised him a nice phone coz he’s been dodging giving him pocket money (we’re in varsity). Anyways, so he was overseas… I don’t know where exactly. My friend charged the thing in my room and I didn;t mind. Well, me being me, I decided to explore the phone a lil… I found it to be weird. For such an ‘expensive’ phone the interface looked cheaper than my 3 year old SE W850. I kept wondering what was wrong as even when I opened the back almost everything was amiss… Then today I looked at the logo and saw that it’s actually NCOKIA and not NOKIA. The C Is made to look like an O, LMAO… He hasn;t realised this yet and I don’t know what to do. Anyways, I just hope people are careful not buy fake, cheap clones unless it’s what they’re aiming for. His dad really screw him over… WOW

    Hi,
I bought a NOKIA N97 mobile, it is just like the original one or may be original. I can’t find any defect in it or any reason to say its fake. Now the problem is how can i check if it is original by looking at its software. Plus i have seen the mobile phone physically and it dont have any defect or name error like Nokla etc. at all.
