General Mobile’s Dual-SIM DSTL1 Android smartphone confirmed for June release

Remember General Mobile’s DSTL1 Android smartphone which we covered in the past? Well, the company announced that it will start selling its dual-SIM baby by the end of June in the U.S. and Turkey. As I’m sure you agree, the most notable feature of this phone lies in its dual-SIM “nature,” but the rest of the specs are solid as well:
- 624MHz Marvell PX310A processor
- Android 1.5 Cupcake
- tri-band (900/1800/1900MHz) GSM/EDGE connectivity
- 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus
- 3-inch WQVGA resistive touchscreen made by Sharp (why not capacitive?)
- microSD slot (DSTL1 will ship with 4GB card in box)
3G is not on board which is a sad thing. We’re also not sure whether it comes with a WiFi radio. If it doesn’t, I can’t justify the purchase, especially when we know that the price will be somewhere in the $550-$750 range, which is a lot.
Finally, let me add that General Mobile also have plans to release the device in Russia and Germany.

This phone looks great, does anybody know where this will be available for purchase??? I have tried emailing them, no answer, I tried calling them, no answer or recording… not a good sign… Anyway, if anyone has any insight, i’d appreciate it since I can’t seem to find where to even purchase any of their other phones.
Who knows when they’re really going to release this phone if ever. All I get from them when I attempt to request a pre-order of the phone (which it is now July 1st) is the following generic response. I have made several inquiries, never do they address what I say in the email they always reply with the same copy n paste response. urgggrrr! Has ANYONE got ANYWHERE with them???
