I guess we expected this to happen, but now it’s official – Acer is the latest member of the Google-led Open Handset Alliance.

But the news doesn’t stop there. The Taiwanese company also said that they expect to launch smartphones based on the Android platform in the fourth quarter of this year.

Hear that? They said “smartphones” not “smartphone.” Am I just reading this too carefully or we’ll see more than one Android device released by Acer this year? After all, someone got to make all those 18-20 Android smartphones that are planned for this year. I’ll certainly keep my fingers crossed. ;)
