15 GB Rogers Plan En Route

By Simon Sage on Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009 at 2:08 PM PST In Rogers, Rumors

RogersA $150 data plan on Rogers (NYSE: RCI) is rumoured to be landing on June 16th. for those who really like to hit the airwaves hard. This is probably more geared towards those using the Rocket Stick, but I could see it as a solid option for those who tether with a smartphone as their primary internet connection. Still, that’s a very small segment; even I don’t see myself going over my current 6 GB plan, which was recently resurrected for the Android Magic and Dream launch. Maybe if you could split the plan across two or three devices, then it might make a little more sense. How much mobile data do you guys use a month, on average?

This makes no sense when compared to Rogers current plans.

If I got the Flex Data plan that’s currently on offer, I could use 15GB in a month, or even $25GB in a month, and the Flex Plan data fees are capped at a $100/mo maximum total.

Why would I pay $150 for 15GB when the current plan structure gives me 15GB and more for just $100?

The only way this new plan would make sense is it Rogers decides to kill off the Flex pricing structure — which would be BIG news for heavy data consumers.

  2. Kevin says:

I currently use around 5.8Gbs of mobile internet. I’m always on 3G and I constantly tether.
