TELUS has gone ahead and released an entry level flip phone for folks that need an ultra simple and compact device while on the go. The LG 5500 is now available from $29.99 on a 3-year contract. A 2-year deal will set you back $99.99, 1-year $149.99… and if you’d rather simply buy the device outright it’ll cost you $199.99.

The LG 5500 is really nothing fancy, but it is very light, comes with a 0.3MP camera with digital zoom, Bluetooth, speakerphone with voice dial and more. For sure this is your ‘bare bones’ device, but if you need an extra ‘emergency device’ for those times when you don’t want to take your pride and joy with you (perhaps when you’re going camping… or white water rafting :P ), the LG 5500 would be a reasonable and very affordable option to check out.

Full details over at TELUS.
