Nokia Messaging

It was about time for Nokia (NYSE: NOK) to bring its Nokia Messaging offering to its courtyard. Their “partner in crime” is Saunalahti, the consumer brand of Elisa, which is the first operator that will launch the push-email service in Finland.

Again, for those not familiar with Nokia Messaging, here’s an excerpt from the press release:

Nokia Messaging mobilizes email accounts from Elisa and Saunalahti, as well as email solutions from thousands of internet service providers (ISPs) and email service providers (ESPs) around the world on Nokia devices. Consumers can access up to ten personal email accounts on one single device. To mobilise their email account, all users have to enter are their email address and password, and emails are seamlessly pushed to their device. Nokia Messaging also makes it simple to read, send, forward and reply to emails, download and read attachments, and attach files to emails directly on their Nokia device.

Saunalahti will launch Nokia Messaging in June 2009 at a price of 4.95 EUR per month. The monthly fee includes the service, a 4GB mailbox, and unlimited email data usage within Finland…

For the record, Nokia and Elisa are already collaborating to bring Ovi services to mobile devices, and this announcement further extends the strategic alliance between the two companies.
