UK: Envirofone: service review

So I get through quite a few mobiles each year, doing the job that I do. Sometimes I give them to friends, other times they lay dormant in my drawer – but more recently I’ve been persuaded that perhaps recycling them is a better idea – particularly if there is a financial reward involved!
In the UK at least, this recycling malarkey has turned in to big business, and least 3 providers are now advertising on TV regularly – one of these, and arguably the most established, is Envirofone. So I thought in the last couple of weeks I’d give it a go. How does it work? Well:
- You select the phone(s) you have to recycle on the site and it gives you a price for what they will pay
- You create an account and confirm that’s the phone (or phones) you want to recycle
- You wait a few days for a jiffy to come through the post, and then pop your phones inside – then send to Envirofone
- They test them and make sure they work (or don’t work – you can still get some cash), and then send you a cheque
- …..Et Voila!
I found the service incredibly easy to use, professional, and quick. Once your phone(s) is/are being assessed, you get update emails telling you the status – nice touch I think.
Overall then, a top service, and highly recommended if you have handsets you don’t want any more!
