‘Konami Code’ Unleashes ‘Developer Mode’ on the Palm Pre

So you want unlimited lives huh? Did you try the Konami Code? You know, up up down down left right left right B A. That one? Yeah, you tried it? and it worked? Cool! Oh wait, now you want to unlock the previously hidden and unknown Developer Mode on your new Palm Pre? Did you try the Konami code on the Pre? Yeah? Did it work? Yeah? Awesome! 🙂

As silly as it sounds, by simply entering the famous ‘Konami Code’ into your Palm Pre (you’ll need to type it out), you can unlock what is known as the ‘Developer Mode Enabler’. A simple flick of a switch turns it on, and the device will need to be reset to continue. When back up and running the Pre should be connected to a machine running the Palm Mojo SDK for webOS. Check out the video above for this hidden gem action.

I’m not much of a code fiend but I do find stuff like this quite interesting. With coders and hackers finding their way into the root image of webOS, I can’t help but wonder what we’re going to see next!?
