Verizon Outs Waterproof Casio Exilim and Side-Sliding Motorola Rival

The waterproof Casio Exilim that we saw Verizon (NYSE: VZ) promoting in rather scandalous ways is now available for $279.99 on a two-year contract after rebates. It might seem a little steep, but for a waterproof, ruggedized device with a 5.1 megapixel camera with 3 x optical zoom and a really cool swiveling form factor, this could be the cameraphone of choice for avid photographers. An 8 megapixel version of the Exilim is out there, but might take awhile to find its way to our end of the pond. Alongside the Exilim is the Motorola (NYSE: MOT) A455 Rival, a side-sliding texter we saw briefly yesterday, available for $99.99 on contract with rebates. GPS, a 2 megapixel camera, 3.5 mm headphone jack and stereo Bluetooth are all confirmed, along with the usual services like VZ Navigator and Rhapsody music.
