90% of my internet reading time is via RSS, I am not addicted, its a neccessity and i cant live without it.

I use Newsgator simply because its to a mobile and internet browser tht syncs with the PC client so when you can browse your feeds anywhere and get home without having to reread the same articles. Its wonderful.

So yes, RSS ftw, its a valuable tool for anyone that follows anything on the internet blogosphere.

Lissen up kids!

RSS overload is nothing new to old-skool newsgroup (Usenet) junkies.

What you need is:

– meta-groups
– filtering
– sorting
– alerts

All this can be done with:

- Yahoo pipes (aggregating, filtering, sorting)
- Klipfolio for Windows (meta-grouping, alerts)

What you will get is:

- 1000+ RSS feeds with
- duplicates removed
- stuff killed based on keywords, poster, time (age), etc
- dupes removed (don’t read the same crap all over again)
- sorting based on various criteria
- reading based on thematic groups you decide, not by site basis (reading by site basis is so 1990s). Put all WinMo feeds to their own window, all Symbian feeds to another, all rumour feeds to a third, and so on.
- alerts (visual or sound) based on keywords you decide
- automatic pruning of old posts based on age (don’t show stuff older than X days and don’t show stuff already seen)

If you are a hardcore junkie, you gotta try this approach, it’ll not only save your sanity, but also improve your RSS reading efficiency.

I m awfully glad that you are back on intomobile. I used like your post a lot.
I just wish that you would stop adorning every post you write with f-words.
Good, interesting and even cool journalism doesnt require swearing. And frankly saying in case of some readers (like myself) it s a big NO-NO and “let’s skip this one” sign.
