Just as we expected, Sprint (NYSE: S) will offer HTC’s full QWERTY keyboard-equipped candybar – HTC Snap. The date is set for June 21st, when interested users will be able to grab the WinMo-powered smartphone for $150 after rebate and with a new two-year agreement. Alternatively, those who don’t like contracts can buy the device unsubsidized for $519 through Best Buy.
Specs wise, the HTC Snap comes with 2 megapixel camera, 2.4-inch QVGA screen (no touch), GPS, WiFi, 3G, Bluetooth, microSD memory card slot. Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard edition runs the show.

Now, I’m looking for a simple qwerty phone with texting, so the Blitz and the dash are ideal for my needs. But the Snap looks like what I might really want.
Seems like a cool device, unfortunately it’s running Windows Mobile. Windows is the worst mobile phone OS ever made, it’s pathetic and completely unsupported by Microsoft and the carriers who provide it. The only hope this phones will realize its full potential lies in the hands of hackers who build functional versions of the OS and publish them for free on the internet.
