cha cha logo ChaCha Answers 150 Million Questions in 18 months ChaCha (an SMS answers service) has ranked among the top 10 short message services with the most traffic – including Facebook, Twitter and American Idol — according to the newly released Q1 Mobile Messaging Report from The Nielsen Company. ChaCha is growing faster than any other SMS answers service, including apparently, Google (NSDQ: GOOG) SMS and Yahoo SMS. Since its launch 18 months ago, ChaCha has answered more than 150 million questions via mobile cell phones and the web.

Interestingly, ChaCha’s usage includes the Web too – in the United States, it has more than 2.3 million monthly unique users – a good number, I have to say!

Pat on the back time methinks – it’s gotta be hard to crack a market the size of the US, but this outfit is doing it!

Here’s a little info in case you are based in the US and want to use the service:

In January 2008, ChaCha introduced its free mobile answers service, which leverages human guides or keywords to provide free answers to any question, anytime, anywhere. Users don’t need a Web-enabled phone or special browsers to search the Internet, and ChaCha answers go far beyond directory assistance. For free, mobile customers simply text 242242 or call 1-800-2ChaCha on their mobile phones, ask their questions and receive concise, relevant answers via text messaging.

Any of our US readers using the service already and have any feedback?
