cha-cha-logoChaCha (an SMS answers service) has ranked among the top 10 short message services with the most traffic – including Facebook, Twitter and American Idol — according to the newly released Q1 Mobile Messaging Report from The Nielsen Company. ChaCha is growing faster than any other SMS answers service, including apparently, Google SMS and Yahoo SMS. Since its launch 18 months ago, ChaCha has answered more than 150 million questions via mobile cell phones and the web.

Interestingly, ChaCha’s usage includes the Web too – in the United States, it has more than 2.3 million monthly unique users – a good number, I have to say!

Pat on the back time methinks – it’s gotta be hard to crack a market the size of the US, but this outfit is doing it!

Here’s a little info in case you are based in the US and want to use the service:

In January 2008, ChaCha introduced its free mobile answers service, which leverages human guides or keywords to provide free answers to any question, anytime, anywhere. Users don’t need a Web-enabled phone or special browsers to search the Internet, and ChaCha answers go far beyond directory assistance. For free, mobile customers simply text 242242 or call 1-800-2ChaCha on their mobile phones, ask their questions and receive concise, relevant answers via text messaging.

Any of our US readers using the service already and have any feedback?

As a result he has a broad and deep knowledge in numerous areas of Mobile – from network operators to device vendors, to infrastructure and middleware vendors (not to mention content delivery) – and has worked for companies in all of these areas! He is based in the UK, a hotbed of activity for mobile, and recently became a father for the second time – as oppose to in his younger years when he was happy spend time tweaking all manner of mobile devices to 'nth' degree, he now looks for services and hardware that provide the most efficient, compact, and reliable improvements to his already manic life! It’s his opinion that Mobile solutions should be there to help to make your life better – if a particular solution (be it service or device) isn’t doing this, he believes you need to ask the very important question of why you continue to use it...
