The Huawei U8230
The good folks over at Huawei have introduced two new devices via the CommunicAsia 2009 Expo and Conference in Singapore.
The first is the Huawei U8230. Running Android, it features a 3.5″ LCD touchscreen that allows users to switch between a full and half QWERTY keyboard. Of course, Google (NSDQ: GOOG) apps are highly integrated, with Google Chrome on-board allowing optimal use of Google Maps, Google Talk and more.
The Huawei C8000 is a Windows Mobile device that runs a 2.8″ touchscreen. Most notable with this device is its power management. Huawei claims that the C8000 should have enough juice to play video files continuously for up to 8 hours. Ridiculous!

The Huawei C8000
Spokesperson for Huawei Terminals Glory Chueng commented on the new devices:
“Having joined the Open Handset Alliance in 2008, Huawei is rapidly moving forward with the development of cutting-edge high-end handsets, especially smartphones powered by Android and Windows Mobile operating systems… The U8230 and the C8000 handsets on display here at CommunicAsia take the interactivity experience of smartphones to a whole new level and Huawei is looking forward to working with our customers to bring them to market later this year.”
Stay tuned for more details on the Huawei U8230 and C8000 as they become available.
