The iPhone OS 3.0 release has finally brought the iPhone and iPhone 3G up to speed with the rest of the mobile market – 3.0 is what 1.0 should have been. But, for Major League Baseball fans, the fun doesn’t stop with MMS and support for Notes. MLB fans will be happy to hear that the iPhone 3.0 OS update allows the At Bat iPhone application to serve up live, streaming video of your favorite baseball team’s game.

The At Bat application was previously launched as a vide0 clip-viewer that offered baseball fans a condensed video showing a particular MLB game’s highlights and what not. That’s all well and good, but for fans looking to watch a game live, it’s not an ideal solution. With iPhone OS 3.0, all that changes.
Thanks to 3.0’s support for streaming media, the $10 app will stream its first live MLB game with tomorrow’s Sox vs Cubs game.
