iPhone 3.0 Firmware Arrives Today: 10AM PST via iTunes

The iPhone 3.0 firmware will do lots of lovely things, like cut/copy/paste (about time Apple (NSDQ: AAPL)!), landscape keyboard in mail, notes (and more), MMS with pictures and audio, a new spotlight search, voice memos, an improved calendar and stocks app, parental controls… and the list goes on (you can check out the full list of improvements over at Apple).
Apple is expected to release the 3.0 update today, at 10AM PST or 1PM EST for those of you on the east coast. The deployment of the update via iTunes should happen at the same time worldwide, so be sure to connect your iPhone, pop open iTunes, and check for updates. You should receive a prompt though… trust me, it’s coming!
Happy days ahead for iPhone users. Lots of tooling and fiddling around with the 3.0 software for sure!

Click shift (windows) restore in itunes. Pick file. Presto!!!
Make sure to backup before you do.
Check your facts, 3.0 does not have a digital compass. The new 3gs does.
So it’s gone 6pm in the uk…and itunes says 2.2.1 is still the latest firmware.
I have itunes 8.2 and am all ready to go.
