Folks behind rmbrme rely on iPhone’s inability to support vCards. Hence they’ve made an iPhone app called beamME, allowing users to transfer (beam) their virtual business cards to other people. You can have multiple business cards and select which one you want to transfer at any point by SMS, email, Twitter, or now with the iPhone 3.0, via Bluetooth.
There’s a free version and the more powerful paid one called beamME Pro. Moreover, there are some niche versions of the app called beamME pitch and beamME CV, designed for sales people and those looking for an employment, respectively. To get any of the versions, simply search for “beamME” in the AppStore.
beamME with Bluetooth support is set to hit the AppStore next week, and these guys look forward to additionally monetize their offering with some advanced paid services, powered by iPhone 3.0’s software.
