Palm was retweeting something intended to be funny. Is “y’all” even proper English?

It’s really a shame when online journo’s don’t consider their information properly, and publish an article like this.

How this so called “flaw” even has anything to do with the keyboard, I don’t know, but it was obviously a sarcastic quip made by Palm to their users.

It isn’t even a flaw, but rather Palm pointing out a critical feature in their OS.

The mind boggles as to how this article even got past editorial review and onto the site.

I haven’t read your other articles, so I don’t know if this is a joke, but it reads as if you are serious and think that’s actually a flaw. Automatically putting apostrophes into contractions is feature and Palm was pretty obviously being facetious about it not doing it on “y’all,” and that is amusing because y’all is not a proper word (unless you are from Tennessee).

So if it is your style to spoof, as the Onion, but without humor, fine job. If you actually thought you were reporting something, then uh well, I don’t have anything nice to say.

Are you kidding me? Will, did you really miss the sarcastic humor in palm’s tweet? It seems to me that having a device automatically insert apostrophes into contraction is a great time saving feature, not a flaw. I’m still trying to figure out why so many websites go out of their way to make the Pre look bad.
