Here it is. The T-Mobile (NYSE: DT) announcement we were all waiting for today. It’s official. The T-Mobile myTouch 3G is coming to us via an August release date, with pre-orders starting on July 8th. The device will run you $199.99 on a 2-year term, and will be available in white, merlot (red), and black. You can check out the myTouch 3G mini site for more information and a countdown timer that ticks down the time until pre-orders begin.

The myTouch 3G is the second Android-powered device to hit T-Mobile. It features an improved form factor in comparison to the G1 (in my opinion), a full QWERTY touchscreen keyboard (yep, Android 1.5 is on board), a 3.2 MP camera, plus tight integration with a bunch of Google (NSDQ: GOOG) apps including Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail and more. This is all to be expected considering the device is a ‘Google Experience’ unit.

One important note about the myTouch 3G on T-Mo… is fact that it appears to have Exchange support as well. This is a first for Android in the US, and definitely a first for a ‘Google Experience’ device. Very interesting.

Again, for more information hit up the myTouch 3G mini-site and poke around.

I for one am very excited to get myTouch3G. I’ve been using an unlocked iPhone on T-Mobile for a while now.

I like T-Mobile’s network where I live and the call quality is excellent. I’ve been testing their 3G network out here in LA and I like what I see. They don’t have 80 million users clogging up the network so at least in my area it’s all mine for the taking. ;-) No complaints here!

I text and email a lot for my business. Using a virtual keyboard is good for quick stuff, like searches. An actual keyboard is a must. If only the MyTouch had a slide out keyboard. It would be awesome.

I would have preferred a 3.5 mm jack, but when I stop and think about how many times I’d need it it’s really a moot point. I use my Nano for music and a BT headset for calls while driving.

Discuss more about this phone at http://www.myTouch3GForum.com, I usually hangs out there.
