Stealing someone’s mobile phone makes you a dick. Stealing someone’s mobile phone in Somalia is an easy way to lose a few pounds, easy because you’ll be living the rest of your life without your right hand and left foot. At an al-Shabab camp, just north of Mogadishu, four men (pictured right) who have been sentenced for stealing mobile phones, and weapons, were forced to wear masks over their faces while a machete removed two appendages, all the while a crowd was watching.
Moral of the story: If you want an iPhone, save up your pennies.
