ThinkFree has recently unveiled its ThinkFree Mobile for Android, what they say is the “first complete office productivity suite offering for Android-based mobile devices.”
As expected with such application(s), users can create, view and edit Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) Word documents (ThinkFree Write), Excel spreadsheets (ThinkFree Calc), as well as PowerPoint presentations (ThinkFree Show). The last mentioned is especially highlighted by ThinkFree as a feature that has not been available before with any other solution. Moreover, the software also allows for drawing objects (again something new on Android), and comes with 1GB of free online document storage space (ThinkFree Online), allowing collaboration and synchronization across all documents.
Finally, there’s a file manager which enables easy access to documents stored on expansion cards through a built-in file browser.
As for the availability, version of ThinkFree Mobile that can only view files will be released later this month (it should be already in the Android Market), while the one that can also edit documents, spreadsheets and presentations will be released in Q4 2009.

Right on! It’s just too bad that Rogers has locked Canadians out of the paid app market. Assuming this is a paid app, as it is not listed in the free app market.
Soon there will be root and we shall rejoice.
Unfortunately ThinkFree’s office suite will not be complete until the fourth quarter of 2009. This is because that is when they are releasing the version that has editing capabilities.
