Well, well, well. Look who came crawlin’ back.

iwear The Signal Podcast #30: Prodigal Sons and iWear GiveawayWell, not really crawling; it’s awesome having Stefan back. This week we’ve managed to wrestle time zone issues down and got the prodigal son, Stefan Constantinescu, to get on the weekly podcast. Considering his time at Nokia (NYSE: NOK), we go over the N97 a fair bit in preparation for our head-to-head review with the Touch Pro 2. The Android-powered Hero gets sufficiently gushed over, as well as the introduction of HTC’s Sense user interface.

We’ve got a fresh giveaway this week – you might have seen Ben writing about Vuzix here, there and everywhere, and now we’ve got a pair to give away! These glasses work with iPhones, computers with S-Video and any mobile phone with video out to provide an immersive multimedia experience.  This particular model, the AV310, usually retails for $249.95, so it’s well worth your while to drop a comment for a chance to win ‘em.

Music by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, as featured on Tap Tap Revenge for the iPhone.

  11. Thomas says:

    Widescreen, very nice.

Palm is known in Europe and it’s the webOS that will be the deciding factor. Apple’s phone (1st gen in form factor) is compelling but certainly not for everybody and Palm Pre is experiencing the same thing. Either you like it or really dislike it.
HTC seems to be an roll with respect to hardware. Teflon coating, Touch Pro 2 – they all look really, really nice. You just have to wonder what it would be like if HTC would enter the netbook market – kind of like the one Always Innovating?? Next gen HTC shift?

  12. Snidely says:

I would love the Vuzix. It would make all those long haul flights a lot more tolerable.

  13. Brian says:

It’s okay to have a prodigal son return even if he’s a hippie.
Better still to have one return productive.
Intomobile is one of my goto sites and despite his habit of trimming in public, all the better for his input.

Please enter me in the draw for the magic specs. They would be a highly enjoyable addition and be of interest for a handful of projects currently kicking around.

    However, should I be so fortunate as to score a pair, this beggar would ask an additional favor;

May I please have a pair that has not been worn by Stefan?

Specs that smell like patchouli would cause flashbacks to my ill spent yoot.
    Thanks,
    Brian

  14. Henry Gardiner says:

    Man these’d be sweet!

  15. Jean says:

Finally, what I see on my screen will be for my eyes only. Not for everybody beside me…

    Thanks IntoMobile

Indeed it would be nice to experiment with this device … Geordi LaForge here i come!

Nice Vuzix, hope that they will make it to other high end smartphones, for viewing videos and doing 3g calls eheheh that would be awesome!

When that time comes most of the people will look like cyclops eheh!

  24. veloracer says:

Sweet. As a true geek, the Vuzix would be awesome to have!

  25. Rolland says:

Similar to the Iphone’s step with Compass and GPS technology, head position determining technologies’ proper integration with those such as the upcoming Vuzix Wrap 920AV will spurn progression towards the actuality of augmented reality.
