Just a quick one, to update you on iPhone 3GS – something I thought I’d do as I’ve been hearing various conflicting reports about availability…

Right now, apparently, there is ‘limited availability’ of some 3GS variants – here’s the official blurb from O2:

iPhone 3GS limited availability:

Due to the phenomenal demand for the new iPhone 3GS, we currently have limited stock available. If you plan to purchase in store we advise you check availability before traveling

Retail Stores and over the phone – Limited availability of iPhone 3GS 16GB Black and White and iPhone 3GS 32GB Black. Due to demand the iPhone 3GS 32GB White is currently out of stock.

Online – We currently have limited available of the iPhone 3GS 32GB Black. The iPhone 3GS 32GB White and iPhone 3GS 16GB are currently out of stock.

We expect additional stock of the iPhone 3GS to be available in all channels next week. Please continue to check o2.co.uk/iphone for updates.

The staff that I have spoken to are saying Wednesday 8th July for the next delivery, so if you want to avoid scrabbling around for a unit, then I’d wait till Wednesday morning!

You can check the O2 website for stock info here.

As a result he has a broad and deep knowledge in numerous areas of Mobile – from network operators to device vendors, to infrastructure and middleware vendors (not to mention content delivery) – and has worked for companies in all of these areas! He is based in the UK, a hotbed of activity for mobile, and recently became a father for the second time – as oppose to in his younger years when he was happy spend time tweaking all manner of mobile devices to 'nth' degree, he now looks for services and hardware that provide the most efficient, compact, and reliable improvements to his already manic life! It’s his opinion that Mobile solutions should be there to help to make your life better – if a particular solution (be it service or device) isn’t doing this, he believes you need to ask the very important question of why you continue to use it... His focus at IntoMobile is mainly on Mobile content, services, and infrastructure, particularly as regards the UK market – and with the occasional look at devices. Additionally, using his extensive experience in the industry, he will provide commentary on the industry at large, with regular (and hopefully thought-provoking) articles.

I tried ordering a 16GB 3GS from mobiles.co.uk who stated on their website on Friday 10th July they were in stock.
On phoning today (Tuesday 14th July) theys said they hadn’t got stock yet (even though the website was showing availability).
    Misleading customers me thinks!
