Sports Illustrated found a neat way to re-invent itself and make few dimes along the way. Their idea – prepare an iPhone app with models from the 2009 Swimsuit Issue. Yeah we know, the Swimsuit issue was released back in February, but it’s better late than never.
Not surprisingly, considering Apple’s puritan policy, SI is marketing the application as the “world’s sexiest app” with a 17+ age rating.
Features include bikini photos of 20 models including Brooklyn Decker and Danica Patrick, as well as some “breathtaking” clips. Nothing spectacular, but as I said, it’s as close to porn as you can get on the iPhone.
Finally, there’s a built-in sports calendar with different Swimsuit model each month for fans to keep track of up to six different pro and college teams.
The question is – is it worth paying 3 bucks ($2.99)? You be the judge, AppStore link is here.
