Symbian launches new blog called “UI Brainstrom” and asks for your help to make the OS look less ancient

Scott Weiss, UI Technology Manager @ the Symbian Foundation, who I interviewed a while back, launched the new “UI Brainstrom” blog with a very simple request: “email me with your suggestions and once I get a chance to look them over, I’ll post them here.” Can’t get any better than that people. Stop complaining that today’s S60 UI looks exactly the same as it did when the 7650 shipped in 2002, and start up your pirated copy of Adobe Creative Suite and make something that if accepted, could make it into the hands of millions of people.

I don’t like the “once I get a chance to look them over, I’ll post them here” part. It’s 2009, it’s blogs, it’s Nokia, it’s Symbian with all the knowhow, expertise and Symbian engineers in the known universe.
Only one really matters – when they will implement new UI.
Talking about hardware and and telephony, Nokia is good in those areas but what is needed now is a modern UI to support that proficiency- it worked for Palm.
