A video showing off Sony Ericsson’s upcoming Xperia X2 has bubbled up; though not showing much, it does confirm a launch with Windows Mobile 6.5. The Panels interface is alive and well. The unreleased Xperia X2 was quickly overshadowed by the Android-packing X3 when it first broke cover, but the X2 still promises to be a fine device.
8.1 megapixel camera
VGA video @ 30 fps
WVGA (800 x 480) 3.5″ touchscreen
Windows Mobile 6.5 (upgradeable to 7)
GPS, WiFi
3.5 mm headphone jack
512MB RAM
Accelerometer
Still no information on pricing or release date, but a launch is clearly coming to a boil with the rash of X2pictures lately.

In exploring RIM’s platform, he has learned what enterprises are looking for in mobility as well as what makes the innocuous BlackBerry so appealing to them. Recently Simon’s been covering RIM’s gradual move into an already-crowded consumer market, and the impact of burgeoning challengers, such as the iPhone, as well as long-time leaders, like Nokia, on BlackBerry’s advancement.
