Yesterday, Phil over at PreThinking reported that some incorrect pricing was going on over at Best Buy. It seemed as though the Palm Pre was tagged for $99.99 in-store. All I could think to myself upon reading this was ‘this has got to be an error… someone is getting fired’. And sure enough, today comes confirmation of just that. An error was indeed made, and pricing is back up to the $199.99 price point (no details or news on anyone getting fired though 
).
Now, don’t let me lead you to believe some folks didn’t take advantage. Multiple reports have come in noted a successful purchase of the Pre for $99. Even wackier, a few reports have come in that Best Buy refunded $100 back to early adopters that purchased the device for the full $199. Craziness.
My advice? Pop by your local Best Buy location and give things a look-see. You never know, some stores may still have the incorrect pricing. Highly doubtful, but worth a shot.
