For our American readers out there: the N86 is the best multimedia device currently shipping from Nokia. It has an 8 megapixel camera sensor with Carl Zeiss optics, the 640×480 videos at 30 frames per second are sharp, and the OLED screen is fantastic. You can preorder the device from Nokia USA by clicking here, and then entering promotional code NOKIATHEATRE when checking out to get $55.80 off, bringing the new total (before taxes and shipping) to $502. That’s cheap. It even has 3G on the 850/1900/2100 bands so you’ll be able to enjoy fast downloads and uploads on either sides of the pond. Do I recommend this device? I’ve tested a prototype version and I greatly enjoyed it. Below is a photo sample I took when I worked for Nokia; those are the elevators in the FG building of Nokia Headquarters in Espoo. If you’re into taking pictures and videos, this device is for you, but sadly it isn’t for me. What am I using? The Nokia E71, because I prefer having a QWERTY keyboard.
