VOXOFON brings its VoIP app to the Palm Pre

Houston, Texas-based VOXOFON is all proud to announce that they are the first VoIP application on the Palm (NSDQ: PALM) Pre. Set to hit Palm App Catalog later in the year, the app will allow users to make low-cost international calls, starting at 1.3 cents per minute.

I’m not sure whether they are first or not, but it’s good thing to see more and more apps being available for the WebOS platform. Hopefully, soon enough we’ll have Skype jumping in with a dedicated application, as well.

In the meantime, check out VOXOFON’s website for additional information. For the record, their app is also available for iPhone, Android and BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) smartphones.

    wow, a call through solution.
you use your local minutes AND pay them to make the call.

Nothing to see here… move along

  2. Craig says:

DJ…. VOIP uses the data connection, not your local minutes. So you could use this either with the 5gb included data alloted per month or turn on WiFi and use it.

  3. Sarah says:

This is a great leading edge for Voxofon, though i heard Vopium has a palm pre application in its coming releases but so far voxofon has the credit to be the first one providing support for this device.
