Starting August 2nd., AT&T will be selling the Samsung Solstice, a full-touchscreen handset with that all-too-familiar TouchWiz user interface. The A887 comes with a 3″ screen, 2 megapixel camera, dual-band 3G, quad-band EDGE,and a virtual landscape QWERTY keypad. Preloaded software ranges the gamut of Facebook, MySpace and Yahoo widgets to Napster Mobile and the usual AT&T services. It’s not much, but a pretty good deal for $99.99 on a two-year contract – if this is your bag, it should be popping up on the AT&T online store soon, although I’m not sure why anyone would grab this over a refurb iPhone 3G

Got my Samsung Solstice about a 7 days back and I’m glad I found your site. So many awesome built in toys if only they could be wrested from the icy grip of ATT. I have got my data cable coming and I’ll be downloading TKFE and PC Studio once I get back to the fat pipe at work. I can’t wait to see exactly what all I can make this thing perform, particularly the Gps navigation applications. I’m a bicycle owner (hence the name) and I’ve been itching for a cell phone application that I could use to track my rides. Sure this can be carried out with att’s own applications, but I simply can’t bring myself to pay a month-to-month fee for an application. If they’d offered it as a 1 time purchase price they’d have had me.
