C’mon, who really uses Google Voice anyway? Oh. That many, huh?

Man, if Joe Rogan is pissed at Apple about pulling the third-party Google Voice app, you know it’s serious. What, Mike Arrington’s ditching his iPhone over it? Ah, whatever. In addition to the GV debacle, Will, Stefan and I also go through the relationship between Google and Facebook vis-a-vis a potential Android app, as well as what Sprint’s acquisition of Virgin Mobile U.S.A means for both companies.

This week we’re giving away a black mophie juice pack air for the iPhone 3G and 3GS. The juice pack air a lighter and sleeker version of their beefier, more powerful version, but still offers a significant boost to battery life for those power users out there. U.S. readers, leave a comment in this post for your chance to win!

So long as you’re commenting, check out Stefan’s post asking how much you pay in a month on wireless, and what you get for it. I think we’ll see a lot of interesting international contrasts there, so go ahead and take a look at the comments so far.

We’re also continuing our App of the Week series. This episode we’re looking at travel apps for iPhone, Symbian and BlackBerry – hit the jump for download links, and the week’s headlines, rumors and releases!

Music by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, as featured on Tap Tap Revenge for the iPhone.

Simon Sage’s education largely surrounded writing, technology and online community, leading him to begin his blogging career at www.BlackBerryCool.com and to quickly discover a vibrant and active community surrounding BlackBerry and mobile technology. In exploring RIM’s platform, he has learned what enterprises are looking for in mobility as well as what makes the innocuous BlackBerry so appealing to them. Recently Simon’s been covering RIM’s gradual move into an already-crowded consumer market, and the impact of burgeoning challengers, such as the iPhone, as well as long-time leaders, like Nokia, on BlackBerry’s advancement. With plenty of content under his belt, Simon will be branching off a bit to see what other smartphone manufacturers are working on while still using BlackBerry as a barometer. Mophie Juicepack Air FTW!

  • Shimmy

I would love one of those! My battery runs out about every other day.

  • Margaret

    Lighter and better! Huzzah!

  • Robert Nelson

As I can never almost never make it even half way through a day without killing my 3GS battery a Mophie JuicePack Air would be wonderful.

  • Henry Gardiner

    Groovy thingamajig~

  • Suzi Kilgo

So tired of this drama over Google Voice app being pulled!! If I had the Mophie juice pack maybe I could continue reading about it though ;)

  • Thomas Emge

  • Jamo

this type of thing is to be expected by anyone in a position of power attempting to maintain positional advantage. The outcry is only natural, but for those of us who are not “A listers” like Joe Rogan, unlock your phone and call it a day.

  • Chris P

Any word on the winner of the Joggler?

  • Simon Sage

Chris, our PR guy contacted one potential winner, but if he doesn’t hear back this week, he’ll pick another.

Thomas, the Sholes looks way too blocky to me, but I’m curious to see if Moto does any fancy work on the UI like HTC did.
