Citi Mobile app

Citibank realizes it needs to: 1) return money it owes to the government; 2) serve better its customers. I’m not an expert on the former, but I can tell few words on the latter. As part of the “better serving its customers” idea, they’ve launched Citi Mobile application for popular smartphone platforms to allow users to access and manage their bank accounts while on-the-go.

From their press release, we learn they talk about BlackBerry smartphones, Palm devices (Pre?), and the iPhone. Feature wise, the application allows users to see their account balances and account activity, pay bills and set up recurring payments, make transfers between Citi accounts, locate Citi branches and ATMs, and connect to Customer Service.

There’s no special procedure involved, and a regular username/pwd combination you use to access Citi’s e-banking service will work on a smartphone, as well. If anyone of you, our readers, had a chance to try out Citi Mobile, we’d like to hear your thoughts. Comments form is all yours…

While I love the idea of a bnking iPphone application…I am very nervous about spyware or virus software gaining access to passwords into my banking account.

I don’t think that smart phones are as secure as a home PC with anti-spyware and anti-vidus software running….

What assurances to banks offer against fraud and theft of passwords and unauthorized access to a bank account if we use amartphone access ?

I am so upset right now because for some reason I cant access citi mobile. I had a razor first… worked but was slow as hell. Then a black jack, which worked a bit faster but still slow. Now I have a PPC HTC-Kaiser and it won’t login! I can enter all my login info but its useless because the stupid sign on button doesnt do anything! i think there is a problem with flash or something because the page isn’t loading right
