Phones4U has just taken delivery of the first 12MP cameraphone in the UK – the Samsung Pixon12!

According to Mobile Today, people going for a £45/month contract (18-month term) with Orange or Vodafone can get the device for free. I suppose that’s not too bad, particularly if you are hell-bent on taking super high-res pics! I personally wonder how good of a 12Mp image we are going to get from the device, and how deep the device is – in theory in should be chunky number to subsume all of the necessary optics. At any rate, users can apparently can 12Mp pics within 2 second of each other – which given that cameraphones have historically been terribly slow at processing the images they capture, is actually pretty darn good.

I hope to get a moment this week to try and find a Phones4U store that has a Pixon12 in stock – it’s the kind of the device the staff would want to show off I would think, so let’s hope it’s not too tricky – I might even find time to do a ‘five-minute fiddle’ review of it ;)
