BlackBerry Storm 2 (9550) Rumored for October/November Release on Vodafone UK and Verizon

BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) Storm users are well aware that the Storm 2 is indeed in existence, and will be on its way in the months ahead. In fact, we’ve already caught it on video, and even got a look at some great pictures here and here.
Latest rumors posted by the folks at The BlackBerry Zone have Vodafone (NYSE: VOD) UK set to launch the BlackBerry Storm 2 in October… while a Verizon (NYSE: VZ) release of the same device would hit us sometime in November. Ah, BlackBerry Storm 2 goodness just in time for the holiday season, the timing couldn’t be better, right?
If RIM does indeed launch the Storm 2 later this fall/winter, it’ll be real interesting to see what other manufacturers can muster in time for the holidays. Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) and Palm (NSDQ: PALM), I’m probably looking at you.

Verizon has Desktop Manager v5.0 ready for download:

IIRC, the versions of Desktop Manager hold closely to the available BB software version.
