Samsung Messager Mister Cartoon edition

While we’re waiting for MetroPCS to dump its Messager handset (r450) and replace it with slightly more capable r560 model, the carrier is teaming-up with Samsung and multicultural marketing agency SA Studios Global to launch an exclusive version of the phone designed by the famous artist – Mister Cartoon.

The funky lookin’ limited edition device will come with preloaded Mister Cartoon wallpapers, ringtones and animations, with additional downloads available from the MetroPCS’ website. A portion of revenues will go directly to funding community art centers, “outreach programs for at-risk youth and art supplies for local Los Angeles schools, Mister Cartoon’s hometown.” Additionally, the first ten phones in the series will be auctioned for charity through this page on MetroPCS’ website in the month of August.

Those not familiar with Mister Cartoon’s work should know he’s a renowned tattoo artist, car customizer, illustrator and designer, and has worked with numerous celebrities — including Eminem, Beyonce, director Brian Grazer and most recently Lance Armstrong with Nike for the Livestrong Foundation.

The pic in the ad is comical. The guy is a total poseur/loser! Diamond rings on his hands, but he’s texting away on a MetroPCS special.
