Ok, we dig the idea – there will be an iPhone application for everything. On that note, we caught the press release from the health education firms AllergyFree Passport and GlutenFree Passport which talks about their iPhone offering. The so called iEatOut Gluten & Allergen Free application is based on the famous “Let’s Eat Out!” book series, providing users with “instant access to safe eating out around the corner from their homes or around the world.”
The application can be dynamically configured to 10 food allergens — including corn, dairy, eggs, fish, gluten, peanuts, shellfish, soy, tree nuts and wheat. Once tailored to their needs, users quickly browse detailed menu items from Indian, Italian and Steak restaurant cuisines with color-coded columns immediately indicating if the dish “contains” or “may contain” selected allergen(s). Moreover, there are information on dish preparation, ingredients, traditional/non-traditional culinary techniques, cross-contamination and critical questions for safe meals…
Interested? iEatOut is waiting for you in the AppStore from where you can grab it for $8.99. A free, lite version is also available.
