Facebook 3.0 iPhone app

Updated Facebook iPhone app has been submitted to Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) for inclusion in the AppStore. First and foremost, push notifications are NOT part of this release and will probably be included in the (also) upcoming Facebook 3.1. Still, from what we’re hearing – even without that, Facebook 3.0 will be well worth the update. Here’s what’s new:

  • Updated News Feed
  • Now you can “Like” something or not
  • RSVP for Events
  • Notes, Pages
  • Photos: create new photo albums, upload photos to any album, zoom, easier tagging, profile Pictures albums
  • A new home screen for easy access to all your stuff, search, and notifications; Ability to add favorite contacts and pages to the home screen
  • Improved notifications – they link to the comments so you can reply right away
  • Call or text people right from the Friends page
  • Messages you are typing will be restored if you quit or are interrupted by a phone call

And that’s about all we got. I would expect to see Facebook going through some faster procedure, though I may be wrong. If that’s the case, I wouldn’t surprised to see it in the AppStore till the end of the week. We’ll see…
