Apply Your Ideas - contest from Verizon Wireless

As Verizon is gearing toward launching its app store, they organized the “Apply Your Ideas” contest for developers. The contest started on August 14th, and it allows developers to submit applications in five categories: Connect, Entertain, Guide, Save Time, and Enhance Living. The only requirement is that submitted applications are new to the BlackBerry platform, and that they [apps] work on the BlackBerry Storm.

Members of the Verizon Developer Community (VDC) will choose the category winners and the People’s Choice winner. The Grand Prize winner, chosen from among the category winners, will be picked by a panel of judges, and will take home $50,000; 200% of the application’s revenue for a year (to a maximum of actual revenue plus $100,000); and a featured spot at the launch of the V CAST Apps storefront.

Application submission period ends on September 20th, and users vote for their favorites from September 24th to 28th. Semi-finalists are announced on October 6th, after which people vote for category winners and People’s Choice winner, and judges panel determines Grand Prize winner from category winners. Finally, winners are officially announced on October 30th… A dedicated website is there to provide all additional ideas. Good luck! ;)
