i.TV 2.0 is coming to the AppStore, packing the universal remote control functionality

i.TV is a popular iPhone app, which we talked about for two times in the past. Now they announced that a new version is coming, packing tons of improvements, including:

• New and improved UI – more streamlined and easier to use
• Remote Control – the app combines the TV guide and the remote control, which is powered by the i.TV Remote Control Framework. As a result, it could be used with a number of device, whose makers develop for the i.TV platform.
• TiVo remote is the first application of the new platform, allowing users to change the channel, fast forward, record and play their favorite shows and movies.
• iTunes integration – enables users to discover related TV and movie content.
• Push notifications – get alerts for when a favorite TV shows air.
