Direct shipping of Sprint’s Touch Pro2 will begin September 8th., according to the latest internal records. We’ve already had a good look at the branded device, although the rumored mid-June release date had come and gone without a peep. The wait may be worthwhile though, even with T-Mobile rocking the Touch Pro 2 for a few weeks now – the Sprint version will apparently have a 3.5mm headphone jack, something sorely lacking from the model we played with. The $599 suggested retail price (i.e. before plan subsidies) will likely make some people cringe and look for cheaper alternatives, but the Windows Mobile faithful will be hard-pressed to find anything better out there these days. For a close look at the Touch Pro 2, be sure to check our extensive comparison review versus the Nokia N97.
