UK: Update: Samsung Galaxy i7500 on O2 – delayed
By Ben Robinson on Wednesday, August 26th, 2009 at 1:25 PM PST In Android, O2, Samsung
Only last week, it looked like we were going to get the Samsung Galaxy i7500 arriving in O2 (NYSE: TEF) shops in the UK – well, that hasn’t happened, and Mobile Magazine has picked up reports from O2 staff that the device has failed testing.
This is a small setback for O2, since it’s their first Android handset, and I’m sure they want to get it out before the Palm (NSDQ: PALM) Pre arrives, sometime in October.
Once these two handsets are out, O2 will be bridging WinMo, iPhone, RIM, Android, and Palm operating systems across their range of devices – impressive five-way split!

Getting fed up with these delays, was supposed to be out a fair while ago, the rest of Europe seem to have it so whats the big problem? Surely if its ok for O2 Germany it should be ok for O2 UK?
I phoned O2 upgrades yesterday who confirmed that stock was delivered as of / Aug but that the system had not yet been updated to show it on offer. He also stated retail won’t have it until a week or two into Sept.
